Still trying to think of a line for this. Probably doesn't need one.

This is a vector version of the jpegs below. For some reason it wouldn't let me post it.

Logo Competition for SOOB

Below is what I submitted for the logo and poster design competition for SOOB.

This logo is for a competition a work mate told me about two days ago.

This is one idea I have for the logo. For some stupid reason it looks blury here. Anyway
I liked it so much I printed out a whole heap after work and then went around the Valley pasting it everywhere. I even went to the QUT Creative Industries precinct and pasted a few there. I can see an addiction about to take hold.

I may get in trouble but fuck it who cares,,, it’s only a sticker promoting something that’s great for the community. Hopefully I didn't make any spelling mistakes.

I can’t wait to see if anyone from work notices.. deny, deny, deny.

I'll try and take a few photos.

Take Home a Shelter Dog Today - RSPCA

Here's an ambient idea I put forward to our previous Creative Director - Andrew Sexton.
He thought it was an award winning idea, but unfortunately it never ran.

Adshel told us - they couldn’t allow for any of their bus stops to be out of order with the fear they would receive complaints from the public.

Apparently once for advertising purposes they took the roof off some of their bus stops and it rained that day. Over the next week they received complaints from little old ladies etc, blah, blah…

We told Adshel we would supply chairs, umbrellas for shade, information booths and maybe even put on a BBQ at every bus stop we used - Any mess made by the dogs would be cleaned up.

In the end we never put the idea forward to the RSPCA and the idea was canned.

Multiple Events at QSAC

This is a work in progress.

I’m trying to communicate in a humorous way that QSAC is able to host more than just sporting events.

I’m somewhat limited with the images I use as I’m not about to head into the men’s toilet taking photos of random guys pissing. Very likely to get my head smashed in!!
If I had actors and a toilet at my disposal, I would have about the same number of people in the shot. The toilet would be a lot cleaner in appearance and I would possibly change the people in the shot to what’s listed below.

Someone who’s been to a rock concert – U2
A person dressed in a Santa suit as if they’ve just come from a Christmas party
Someone in a suit as if they’ve just come from a business meeting.
A kid who’s dressed in his school track and field uniform, green singlet, white shorts, socks pulled up and white sand shoes.
Maybe someone with his tennis racket up against the wall and dressed in his gear.

QSAC. Brisbane's number one music venue.

10/1/06

The Creative director liked the U2 ideas, but would like to see something that they can reuse whenever there is a rock concert. He also wanted me to try and stay away from using the track as a visual.

I came up with this sketch today and then showed him just before he went home. He thought it was the best idea he's seen me do so far. “Keep working on it.”

I’m not sure if it’s obvious when looking at the sketch. I’m trying to use the tennis racket as a metaphor for a guitar being smashed on the stage by a rock star at a concert.

This is an idea i will put forward to the creative team on Monday. Hopefully they will like it. If they don't I'm not too worried because it's going straight into my folio.

Last night I put it to the ultimate test. I showed it to my brother and his drunken mates. They got it straight away which proves to me that it works.

Mark if you see this before Monday let me know what you think! I'm sure there needs to be a full stop after venue. I will try and draw up a few more ideas before I see you.

I showed the Art Director my ideas and he thought they were great. Later in the day I showed the Creative Director my ideas and he thought they were good first ideas but could be worked on a little further.

He would like me to try and focus my ideas away from U2 and try and come up with something that is more generic to any music event at QSAC. He would prefer to see a visual image that works for all bands or music events that may or are about to play at QSAC.

Out of all three QSAC ads he thought the one with everyone pissing was the best.

Not to worry I’ll just keep trying to crack it. It’s sort of annoying in a way because I can’t stop thinking about it.
